Meditation is the most natural thing in the world: select some aspect of life’s self-renewing rhythm you love, and dive in. Allow yourself to be attracted to what you love and accept everything you experience as part of your conversation with life. You have many instincts that will guide you: hunting, homing, nesting, resting, feeding, communing with nature.
The skills required in meditation are similar to those involved in loving anyone or anything.
Life is rhythm. You are breathing right now, probably somewhere between a dozen to twenty breaths per minute, and your heart is pulsing in a rhythm, perhaps of sixty to 80 beats per minute.
Meditation is rhythmic because life is rhythmic, and one of the skills of meditation is to ride your rhythms and welcome every phase.
